Heather is the Managing and Arts Editor of DCist.com, where she has covered visual art in D.C. since February 2006. She created and now organizes the annual DCist Exposed Photography Show, which has exhibited at the Warehouse art gallery (2007), Civilian Art Projects (2008), Gallery at Flashpoint (2009), and Long View Gallery (2010).
Heather was selected to be on the jury panel for the first annual FotoWeekDC contest in 2008, alongside such distinguished persons as Pulitzer Prize winner Deanne Fitzmaurice and 2005 Fine Art Photographer of the Year Joyce Tenneson. She was also a juror in a 2009 photography contest by The Phillips Collection and for the 2011 International Photography Society annual exhibition. In addition to DCist, her writings have appeared on the Washingtonian Magazine's web site and On Space for Aviation Week. She's been a guest on the Kojo Nnamdi Show and Let's Talk Live on News Channel 8 to discuss visual art in the metro area, and spends her days working as an attorney at a large law firm in downtown D.C.
