Call for Entries -- FotoweekDC Show
Ten Miles Square, is partnering with the Pink Line Project to curate and host a show during FotoweekDC, and this our call for entries.
Our exhibit will feature the "theater" of D.C. You may submit 4-6 images that show us a scene or a narrative of something culturally relevant to the Metro area. We want to see your artistic perspective of your surroundings and the theater you see every day (meaning: stay away from monuments and cliche urban shots of graffiti). Think about the relationships you have in the city and your involvement with groups or the places you frequent. What do you see that makes us want to see it, too? Focus on what *you* do well: is it impromptu street photography? Staged scenes? Low-light events? Anything goes.
We'll be featuring a series of 4 images from each photographer. Our venue is to be determined, which means the number of photographers we'll choose is also to be determined, but will likely be between 5 and 10. You can (and we encourage you to) sell your work at the show. There is no cost to submit your work or take part in the show, except to print and frame your work, though Ten Miles Square keeps thirty percent of sales from the show. Your submission entries will not be distributed anywhere without your permission (more on that below).
Please send in your work in low to mid res format to heather [at] tenmilessquare.com by midnight on Saturday, October 4. This deadline should give you time to produce work if you don't have images that fit the statement. Keep in mind that the selected photographers will only have about a month to print and frame their work.
If you're not chosen for the show, your submissions will not be for nothing. Ten Miles Square will also be kicking off a monthly photography series soon, and your work, if you wish, will be considered for both.
We look forward to seeing your entries!
